He released many works. He continued to create, record, and release new songs, whether singles, EPs, or full-length albums, at regular intervals of about three months. The songs were similar yet different, and different yet similar. I remembered the introduction he wrote when he first released [A Careless Fellow]. A new musician who declared that he pursues various genres such as country, rock, lo-fi, and alternative. As he said, he presented various styles of music, but within them, Sagongs unique sensibility, or emotional part, was consistently maintained.

I dont know if the word original is appropriate, but Sakong was originally a guitarist. He had a guitar at home since he was young, and he also liked band music that centered around the guitar. He also liked singing while playing the guitar. While doing music, he liked singing more than playing, and he liked writing songs more than singing. He naturally became a singer-songwriter. It was because of this inclination that Sakong was able to consistently release new songs.

“Collection of Songs” is an album that selects 10 songs from among the many songs that Sagong created. Although it includes songs that have been loved, such as “Morale Castle,” “I Knew It Was Love,” and “Dear, Ann,” it doesn’t seem like a complete collection of popular songs. Popular songs like “A Careless Fellow ()” are also missing, and if it were just a collection of popular songs, instrumental songs like “pixie dance” and “The Koo Koo Bird” would have been excluded a long time ago. Therefore, “Collection of Songs” is closer to a collection of songs that best shows the unique color of the musician Sagong. Through “Collection of Songs,” we can roughly understand his musical history and characteristics since his debut.

Although it is a compilation album, it makes you feel like you are listening to a full album without any sense of incongruity. This also means that Sakong already has his own style. Putting guitar pieces, which are like his roots, between the songs not only has the effect of adding points to the album, but also makes Sakong a little more special as a musician. In fact, he has named several genres to express his music, but it is strange that ‘guitar pop’ is not among them. Let’s put aside the dictionary genre characteristics for a moment and explain it literally. Sakong has continued to create wonderful ‘pop’ music with ‘guitar’.

The music is also romantic. It stimulates nostalgia, and naturally brings out feelings of longing and regret for things that cannot be reached or possessed. The consistent emotions I felt while listening to Sagongs music may have originated from here. Sagong used the expression pastoral. It means simple, peaceful, and lyrical like the countryside. Small cities or small port cities with a view of the ocean are more suitable for Sagongs music than rural areas. It is true that it is simple, peaceful, and lyrical. The reason why Sagongs music is loved is probably because it maintains a refined and sophisticated mood within that simple, peaceful, and lyrical music. Illustrator Jeong Eun-gyus cover art fits Sagongs music and the emotions that Sagongs music has perfectly.

This phrase introducing the boatman was very impressive. The boatman is always the boatman. The only difference is the rivers he floats on. I used the word emotional a lot before. I think that this emotion of the boatman is a very big weapon and also a charm. Whether the tool used to express his music is guitar pop, country, folk, or alternative rock, the boatmans heart and the songs that express that heart remain the same.

Poor playback

Disk abnormality
