The song was inspired by snoopy, which was the name of the Apollo 10 lunar module launched in the United States in 1969.
Apollo 10 was the first manned space mission broadcast on color TV and the first space project that set many records, including the first orbit around the moon. Apollo astronauts wished for good luck by touching Snoopy’s nose before flying, and employees preparing for space missions placed Snoopy figures as talismans to remind them of safety.
