Yuqis first mini album [YUQ1]

Yuqi, a member of music powerhouse (G)I-DLE, who achieved 4 consecutive ‘PAK’ (Perfect All Kills) on major domestic music charts with her 2nd full-length album [2] released in January, is releasing her first solo album that clearly shows her own unique style. [YUQ1] is released. Yuqi, who previously proved his endless growth potential through the digital single [A Page], has built a diverse musical career, receiving love calls from many top artists at home and abroad with his attractive voice.

Yuqi’s first mini album [YUQ1] contains ‘Yuqi’ itself, as can be seen in the album name. This album, which captures Yuqi’s free-spirited yet delicate artistry, visually expressed the strong confidence in her first album by expressing the letter ‘I’ in Yuqi’s name with the number ‘1’.

The title song ‘FREAK’ is a song full of Yugi’s lively energy and presents something special in the repetitive boring daily life. In particular, he sings about the unique charm of ‘FREAK’ with honest lyrics such as ‘She’s a Certified Freak’ and ‘I’m a Certified Freak’, and reveals that the person he has been singing about is actually ‘Wooqi’ himself. This song, full of Yuqi’s confidence in acknowledging differences from others and confidently expressing them with his own individuality, gives the listener a refreshing sense of liberation.

Yuqi, who composed many of the songs on (G)I-DLE’s group album, also increased the sincerity and completeness of her first solo album by listing her name as a lyricist and composer on most of the songs, including the title song ‘FREAK’. In addition, by featuring various artists such as (G)I-DLE’s Minnie, pH-1, and Lexie Liu, Yugi’s own musical color was established with more diverse genres and stories.
