Breakup Diary 2 is the follow-up to Breakup Diary 1 EP released in 2020. The farewell diary expressed the beginning and end of the breakup as a ‘diary’ in the form of a song. Parting diary 1, which realistically captures the process of separation, was loved for its vivid emotional expression, lyrics based on real experiences, and dreamy expression of sadness and sorrow.
If farewell diary 1 deals with the pain felt during the breakup process, farewell diary 2 deals with the various emotional changes felt after a breakup and the process of healing wounds. The development of the album coincides with the process of healing Yunbi’s own wounds. The recollection of toxic things experienced during the breakup process, such as catharsis after a breakup, respect for one’s own values, and gaslighting between lovers, proceeds. It is an album that deals with the things one realizes after a breakup and the acknowledgment of it.

The special feature of this album is that the lyrics were not written before recording. I recorded my thoughts and feelings after the breakup that day. We recorded each word in a freestyle. The strengths of parting diary 1 were kept intact. It’s an album with more popular toplines and addictive songs that mix indie / R&B / rock genres. Farewell Diary 2 is Yunbi’s 2nd regular album released after 8 years.
