Singer-songwriter Yeonjeong (YEONJEONG) releases her first EP If I Draw Love as a Person

Singer-songwriter and guitarist YEONJEONG’s first EP (mini-album) ‘If You Draw Love as a Person’ has been released.

Yeonjeong is a rookie who debuted at the 33rd Yoo Jae-ha Music Contest in 2022 after receiving the encouragement prize for ‘Murphy’s Law’. Three months after releasing the single ‘About Time’ in August and one year after her debut, she released her first EP album ‘Love People’. I came here with If you draw with. This album contains five self-composed songs based on rock music, with Yeonjeong’s unique sensibility and musical colors, and sings about various emotions and feelings of love and life.

The first track and title song, ‘I Got Love’, is a gently flowing emotional ballad with an addictive melody, and Yeonjeong’s vocals and guitar harmonize with the keyboard and bass drum to create a sophisticated band sound. Singing about the diverse nature of love.
The second track, ‘If My End Was Setting Like This’, is a song written while watching the sunset. It is a song that stands out with Yeonjeong’s clean electric guitar sound and emotionally emotional vocals. If you listen to it especially when the sunset is setting, you may be able to feel the flow of emotions. .
The third track, ‘Murphy’s Law (Rock ver.)’, is a song that won the encouragement prize at the 23rd Yoo Jae-ha Music Contest, and is a new arrangement of the existing acoustic guitar folk style into a rock band style.
This is a song that lets you feel the charm of guitarist Yeonjeong.
The fourth track, ‘Hide and Seek’, is the double title of this album and is the song that best expresses Yeonjeong’s musical sensibility. It starts with an electric guitar and vocals with guitar effect sounds such as Yeonjeong’s flanger, and gradually each instrument builds up naturally, with the addition of string instruments from the 14-member Feel Strings to create a sophisticated sound. It is an attractive song in which Yeonjeong’s calm vocals harmonize with the sound.
The fifth track, ‘Playground’, is a song that stands out with Yeonjeong’s strong electric guitar and delivers a retro rock band sound.

For this first EP album, Lee Yo-han, who has participated in the arrangement and production of many indie artists such as 10CM’s Owen, Woohyo, and Heo Hoe-kyung, participated as a producer and was in charge of the piano and keyboard parts for all songs and the arrangement of the two title songs, ‘I Got Love’ and ‘Hide and Seek’. Yeonjeong also produced, arranged, and did all the guitar work herself, and Koo Ja-young, CEO of her label DHPE, helped with co-producing.
In addition, Korea’s best mix engineer, Go Hyun-jeong, mixed all the songs and Kwon Nam-woo participated in mastering, providing a complete sound.

With the release of her first EP ‘If I Draw Love as a Human’, Yeonjeong is a complete artist with vocal and guitar playing skills as well as lyrics, composition, arrangement, and production, and is a next-generation singer-songwriter to watch, raising expectations for 2024 even more.

This is a song I wrote while watching the sunset quietly disappear after setting the day on fire. Usually, whenever I see a sunset, I feel an inexplicable feeling of excitement and a tickle in my heart, and I wanted to capture these inexplicable emotions in the song.

03 Murphys Law (Rock ver.)

This is a story about the lonely feeling of unrequited love: The person I like doesnt like me by applying Murphys Law, in which things happen in the opposite way the way you want them to, to love.

I think most people in the world hide their true selves and live as people they think they should or want to be socially. Why dont we stop playing hide-and-seek with ourselves and start loving ourselves for who we really are?

This is a song I wrote while reminiscing about the times I had fun playing with my friends at the playground when I was young. I hope this song will reach the friends I had back then who I cant remember now.
