An ambitious debut from Yan Kim, a rising star in the Korean jazz scene.

This is a rare domestic piano trio album in the New York Straight Ahead Jazz style, featuring bassist Jin-kyo Park, a mainstay of Korean traditional jazz, and drummer Joe Farnsworth, a master of New York traditional jazz.

Yan Kim’s interpretations of jazz standards are grounded in jazz traditions while still conveying his own distinct sound, while his original compositions demonstrate his perspective on jazz as an artist living in the 21st century, rather than simply admiring the golden age of 20th century jazz.

Although this is his debut album, he has already presented a complete sound, but he will continue to pursue the mainstream and tradition of jazz through his future activities.
We can expect that he will become an artist who does not stop at just copying, but builds his own deeper and stronger identity based on it.
