In this album [Solar Emotion Part. 8], I arranged two songs that are really meaningful to me beautifully and put my own emotions into them.
First of all, the title song ‘First Love’ is a powerful song by Japanese national singer Utada Hikaru, and I am so honored to be remaking it for the first time through this album. And the included song ‘I Will Give You All (Love Letter)’ is a song that I first encountered as a movie OST, and the song itself is delicate and you can feel the pure emotions in it, so it was a song that was attractive the moment I heard it.
Both are great songs, and I hope that they will be a comfort and healing to many people as they are albums that I worked hard to prepare and create!

Mamamoo’s Solar presents warm emotions to listeners once again with the [Solar Emotion] project, following her performance in January.

This [Solar Emotion Part. 8] is a reinterpretation of Utada Hikaru’s ‘First Love’, which was a ‘national first love memory manipulation song’ that gained explosive popularity not only in Japan but also around the world, with a heartbreaking yet mature sensibility, and by directly participating in the lyrics writing process of rewriting the original song into Korean, it is filled with Solar’s own deep aftertaste.

Although ‘First Love’ was a song that was so well-loved that it sold the most records in Japan, it was remade for the first time through this [Solar Emotion Part. 8] album, raising expectations for many listeners. In particular, the live clip based on the story of ‘a love letter to a past first love’ presents a ‘first love memory manipulation song’ that is different from the original while providing an intense sense of immersion like a movie.

The included track, ‘I’ll Give You All’, is a representative song of Lee Jang-hee, an icon of 70s pop music who is famous for the OST of the movie ‘C’est Si Bon’. It captures Solar’s sweet tone and at the same time, it uses the keyword ‘love letter’ as a subtitle to create organic harmony within the album.

Meanwhile, [Solar Emotion Part. 8] was released as a cassette tape album identical to the previous series, making it the signature album of the [Solar Emotion] project, further increasing its collection value.
