Ha Hyun Woo’s second solo EP [Anti ego]

Ha Hyun-woo, vocalist and singer-songwriter of the band Gukkasten, is releasing his second solo EP [Anti ego].

Ha Hyun-woo, who released his first solo EP [Ithaca] in 2018, which was a compilation of songs about dreams and journeys toward utopia, tells a story of even deeper inner reflection through his second solo EP [Anti ego] after four years.

‘Anti ego’ is a symbolic message that runs through the album and roots all the stories, and it says that when we discover and acknowledge the true self that was there before, true understanding of “you” and reflection on “us” ourselves are possible, as a boundary and question about the false “me” created by the endless longing for the true self in the groundless myth.

The album is organically connected and contains all the processes, expanding the world from my story of finding myself to a lament containing a prayer for everyone living in this era.

The title song ‘My Enemy’ is a story about the ‘me’ I first encountered as is, and the ‘enemy’ called ‘me’ that I must be most wary of, amidst the worries and questions within the false belief in self-confidence and the arrogance of the ego that is coiled deep inside, and the realization of numerous lies created by the ego in spiritual materialism.

Another title track, “Horn,” says, “We all live with a horn the size of a span, and that small span is my self-esteem, a sword and shield in the face of the fierce world, and everyone’s expectations and love for me.” It says that when we become tired of the weight of this small but dangerous and burdensome horn that we have to bear on our own, and when we forget and lose ourselves in the familiar pain and loneliness, we need the courage to reveal our emptiness and weaknesses at least once.

It starts with ‘me’ through the songs ‘My Enemy’ and ‘Horn’ and moves on to ‘you’ and ‘us’ in ‘BACK’ and ‘Miserere’, creating resonance.

‘BACK’ talks about the distance between you and me.

This song asks how far the distance between me and the person I love, whom I believe is closest to me, actually is, and is about the gap between you and me, family, or generations who are closer than anyone else but are further apart because we each have our backs to each other and look ahead.

‘Miserere’, which means “have pity”, is the last song of prayer left for us who have been left in a dead end swept away by the boiling desires, violence, indifference, abuse, irresponsibility and indifference of the present age (humanity).

Jacket/components/packaging condition
1) Please understand that minor jacket wrinkles, corner pressing, cracks, etc., other than obvious defects in the product, are not eligible for return/exchange.
2) The inner slube may crack due to contact with the disc, and this is not subject to return/exchange.
3) The disc label may not be attached smoothly due to the manufacturing process.
4) Damage to the outer packaging vinyl that does not cause a problem with the product itself is not eligible for exchange/return.

Poor playback
1) If you use a turntable without a tonearm or weight adjustment function (mainly all-in-one models), you may experience a skipping phenomenon when playing tracks with large dynamic sound deviations. This is mostly caused by the light tonearm weight.
We do not accept returns or exchanges for playback defects caused by device issues, so we recommend playing the product on a device with adjustable tone arm.
2) Discs may not play smoothly due to static electricity and dust. This can usually be resolved by removing it with a special product.
3) If dust accumulates on the needle, playback may not be smooth.

Disk abnormality
1) The disc surface may become warped or warped. Returns or exchanges are only possible if there is a problem with playback.
2) In order to minimize distortion of the playback range and maintain maximum consistency during repeated playback, the disc center hole diameter is sometimes manufactured small. If it does not fit the turntable spindle, the problem can be solved by adjusting the center hole using a special product, etc.
3) Occasionally, there may be minor scratches or imperfections on the disc. Returns or exchanges are only possible if there is a problem with playback.

Color disc
1) The color disc may differ in actual color from the web image.
2) Due to the nature of color discs, there may be color differences between albums during the production process.
3) Color discs may contain small dots or other color dyes mixed in during the manufacturing process.

Exchange/Return Information
1) When requesting an exchange/return due to an obvious defect, please contact the customer center with photos and videos that can confirm the defect and the model name of the player.
